Tron Legacy may be heading for a grim opening weekend if analyst projections are to be believed. Disney’s $200 million dollar 3D sequel to Tron [1982] won’t be a hit according to THR, the film is not tracking as well as the studio had hoped for and is predicted to take slightly less than $35 million. The film, with it’s colossal budget, would need to take close to $50 million to become profitable. One problem, it seems, is the female audience, they’re just not interested in the film. The studio may be aiming for the wrong demographic , 18-25, when they should also be shooting for those in their 30’s or 40’s after all, those are the die-hard Tron fans.
