Lionsgate have announced that they will be handling US distribution for Dredd, the upcoming Judge Dredd movie. Karl Urban plays the lead. Alex Garland has written the Screenplay and Pete Travis directs.
Entertainment have picked up the distribution rights for the UK. The Lionsgate deal will also see them taking charge of Boaz Yakin’s Safe and Simon West’s Protection, and while none of the three films have yet to be shot [Dredd begins principle photography on November 12th] the company’s press release has described them all as “genre movies at their best”.
