R.I.P.D director Robert_Schwentke [Flightplan] has bluntly stated that his upcoming adaption of the Comic book R.I.P.D is to deviate from the narritive of the comics, at
least in comparison to his current comicbook film Red.
Schwentke told the excellent I Am Rogue:
"I read the script and I just really fell in love with it.
It’s a similar case of, I suppose, using the comic book as inspiration and
trying to stay true to the spirit of it, even if you aren’t necessarily
structuring the narrative in the same way that the comic book is structured"
Thus far Ryan Reynolds maybe playing the role of a recently deceased cop who helps his still-alive partner bust crooks.
