We first reported way back in August that Noomi Rapace who is best known for her role as Lisbeth
Salander in the Millenium Trilogy [The Girl with
the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who
Played with Fire and The Girl Who
Kicked the Hornet’s Nest] based on the novels of the late Stieg
Larsson, had met with Ridley Scott in Los Angeles and discussed the possibility of working together, most likely on Scotts Alien Prequel[s].
Rapace in the meantime landed a role in director
Guy Ritchie’s
Sherlock Holmes
2 alongside Robert Downey
Jr. While in LA on Monday to promote the U.S. release of Hornet’s Nest on
October 29th, Rapace addressed the Alien Prequel rumors stating that she "would love to
work with Scott." Rapace admitted that she has met with Scott and that they
share a mutual admiration, but said that any talk of her being cast in the Alien
Prequel is just talk for the time being.
"I would love to work with Ridley, but there’s so many
rumors. I’ve read a lot of things about me in the paper and gone, “ Oh really?
Okay! Yeah — I didn’t know that!” But I’ve met him a couple of times, and it’s
amazing for me, but he’s said he’s a big fan of my work, and I’m a really big
fan of his work so I would love to work with him. But we’ll see."
Rapace went on to say that if she does accept a role in a
movie like the Alien Prequel it won’t be because she’s trying to
strategize her career or simply for blockbuster-level money, but because she
has a desire to work with the other people attached to the movie [which suggests she is saying that she will accept the Alien Prequel gig if it
offered to her considering her admiration of Scott’s work].
"That’s not the way I think. It’s more like it’s all about
the persons — the script and the director and the other actors, that’s
everything that matters.... I think that the only thing that I have to know is that
I in my heart want to do it. I can’t do it because it’s a good thing to do, or
because it’s well-paid; I have to find something that hits me."
