CAN DIRECTOR ADAM BERG FILL ROBERT RODRIGUEZ'S SHOES FOR [DEADPOOL]

Deadpool has been receiving a lot of attention recently and its not all positive. Fan favorite director Robert Rodriguez has just confirmed that he will be working on Sin city 2 next and Ryan Reynolds still unsure about his next project is by far attached to the project. Worst of all is the recent confirmation of Rhett Reece & Paul Wernick's screenplay leaking prior to production. Today 24 Frames reports that director Adam Berg has emerged as the top contender for the director’s chair.

Berg's work is admired by its potential star, Ryan Reynolds, as well as others involved in the production. Berg is one of many commercial/music video directors to recently be promoted to big-budget studio efforts, alongside directors such as Joseph Kosinski [Tron Legacy] and Carl Erik Rinsch [the upcoming Logan’s Run remake]. The transition isn’t always a smooth one, but after watching and rewatching Berg’s Carousel short, which won the Film Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival [the most presitigious award in the advertising industry], Its intriguing to see what he can bring to Deadpool. There’s certainly no denying that he has a knack for spectacle, and will probably produce a slicker effort than Rodriguez would’ve, as he tends to be more rough-around-the-edges. All of this is keeping in mind that Deadpools fate is still very much up in the air at this point.
