Gareth Edwards, who unveiled his debut feature Monsters at Toronto today, has already parlayed the film into a great next opportunity according to Deadline. Edwards has teamed with Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov on a science fiction film that Edwards is writing to direct, with Bekmambetov producing with Jim Lemley.
While it sounds like a contradiction, Edwards and Bekmambetov describe the projects as "an epic human story, set in a futuristic world without humanity."

Edwards has created much buzz for his film, partly because of the production value he got on a reputed $100,000 Monsters budget, with another $400,000 thrown in for visual effects and post production. The picture will be released in October by Magnet. Edwards' deal was made by WME and UK's Curtis Brown.
