Columbia Pictures have sent out a press release confirming Andrew Garfield as
Spiderman. Its finally revealed that after extensive testing Sony and director Marc Webb have chosen Garfield [The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus] for the role of Peter Parker.
The studio reportedly extended an offer, which Garfield accpeted. The Spiderman reboot is slated for a 3D release on July 3, 2012. It was reported yesterday that Josh Hutcherson was offered the role, whether he turned it down or not has yet to become clear.
